Rane TTM-56 Professional DJ Mixer
Rane's new top of the line mixer, the TTM 56, is out. It's been months of anticipation, and many questions were kicked around in the big melon before I actually got my hands on one. I read all I could. Yes, it's got a three band eq with total kills, a first for mixers devoted to skratch. Yes, it's got faders with a 3 year guarantee that comes with the rest of the mixer. And yes, it's got some newer, better transform switches than the old TTM 54. And it's a Rane, which means you can expect some of the best sound quality, performance, and fantastic customer service. But what about these new faders? Are they really to be trusted? And what about every Vestax lover's number 1 complaint about Rane mixers, that they are too quiet? Read Complete Review.

Technics® EPC-U1200 Professional DJ Cartridge
I have been using this stylus for a few months now and here are some comments on it. The stylus is a perfect fit to your Technics shell cartridges which means no more licking the ends of your cartridges to get a good connection. The noise level from the needle is nice even in a club environment. Some scratch needles don't put out enough sound but track good and Technics has balanced both needs for DJs. I had to break the stylus in for about a week by spinning out old records from start to finish then just keeping the needle laying in a groove overnight. The needle has low pressure which is nice for my vinyl but had a tendency to skip until I broke them in. I also got a nice Needle Storage box courtesy of Technics to transport them from gig to gig. They are now my stylus/needle combination of choice.
