Pandora
curiosity seeps into and consumes her soul
her heart hardened by society, as black as coal
she bears the weight of the world on her shoulders
she crumbles to the ground as the fire within smolders
tempted by the Gods she loses her nerve
clinging to Hope she must conserve
the light within before it is extinguished
indifferent to the struggles of others, she is undistinguished
Big Brother comes home and kills the kid
sanity crawls into a box and nails shut the lid
in the absence of light darkness prevails
a lone woman, brokenhearted, wails
Interpret as you wish.
