If I understand correctly, feeding is pointing out a specific line or lines from an opponents verse and attacking it. Feeding, which I myself am a culprit of at times, seems only to strengthen your punches. Why then is there no feeding allowed in battle leagues?

Probably because it gives an advantage to one of the battlers. If I post my verse first, I can't feed off any lines, but the guy I'm battling can feed of my lines.
Which is why they should make battles kind of back and forth, maybe short little 6 - 8 liners and then post up about 3 of them, back and forth, then feeding would be viable and acceptable. Too bad that probably will never happen. |

^^^ and this is exactly why in the old days challengers would drop first... you really had to get at someone HARD because they could flip your punches...
